Selling a piece of Mountain Bike history!
A collectors Chris Chance designed and built Fat City Cycles - Team Fat Chance YO EDDY hardtail Mountain Bike
The legendary "YO" is arguably the best steel hard tail frame ever produced, and comes in the very rare & gorgeous Aquamarine fade ( Aqua fade ) paint job.
This bike is a real treasure of a find.
Hand built by the original Fat crew in Somerville, Massachusetts in 1993 (a year before the company was sold and moved to Saratoga, NY, and lost its prized welders) this much sought after bike is rated super highly on websites such as MTBR and Fatcogs.
If you're not in the know, just google Yo Eddy and you'll find countless other websites raving about this bike, it magic ride properties, and its company.
The only problem is that it was a small company and made a very limited run of these handmade, and therefore very expensive frames, right here in the good ol' USA... not that cheap Chinese junk! Hachoospecialized!
Made from True Temper Quad Butted 4130 chromoly tubing.
Nothing rides like steel, and this frame is the best!
Comes in M/L (Medium - Large) size (approximately an 18" ), with a full Shimano Deore XT group.
24 speeds, V-Brakes, recently tuned up... the bike is Very Good \ Good Condition.
A few ubiquitous paint chips and scratches here and there, but nothing that you wouldn't expect on a CLASSIC bike that was lovingly ridden for close to 20 years.
Other TOP of the line components and UPGRADED period parts include...
Rock Shox Judy suspension fork (recently rebuilt).
Shimano XTR Crankset!
Nuke Proof Stem.
Michelin Wildgripper Lite kevlar tires (like new).
Ritchey WCS headset, handlebar, and bar-ends.
Shimano Clipless Pedals
Vetta TT Saddle (Made in Italy)
Mavic 517 rims, laces with DT Smith spokes to XT hubs.
White Industries stainless spindle & sealed bearing bottom bracket.
Even has the original Fat Chance "Toothpics" anti chain suck thingies on the bottom of the BB.
The only reason I'm selling this bike is because I've been having issues with my back, and can no longer handle the racing bike position, and lack of rear suspension.
Therefore I am looking to sell this Classic Vintage collectors bike, or willing to trade for a late model high-end full suspension bikes in a Large\19" size, preferably a 29er, which I want to give a try.
Feel free to shoot me an email with your suggestions.
Otherwise I'm asking $1999 for this collectors dream mountain bike.
Will consider reasonable offers.
Feel free to email me for more info, or to check out the bike.
Happy Riding! :)
